Virtual 5K Challenge Photo Contest - Terms & Conditions
For participants 18 years and over: By submitting an entry for the Virtual 5k Challenge, I certify I have read and accept the terms and conditions for participation in this event.
For participants under 18 years: By submitting an entry for the Virtual 5k Challenge, I certify I am the parent/ guardian of this participant who is under 18 years and I give my consent for them to participate in this event. I accept the terms and conditions for participation in this event on behalf of the entrant and declare them as capable of completing the required distance of this event.

All participants must be part of The University of Hong Kong community in order to compete in winning the prizes of the event. Only entries with a valid HKU email account are considered participants who are part of The University of Hong Kong community.

The submission of participation entries will be accepted from 1st of October 2020 until 31st of October 2020. Participants are only allowed to register one account on which all their entries will be recorded.

Participants who have uploaded a “Selfie” of their run will be automatically entered into the Photo Contest to win our prizes. Judges will evaluate all valid entries and the 5 entries that receive the highest score from the judges will be named potential Winners. All judging decisions are final. Scores will not be provided.

Each entry will be reviewed, by a judge or panel of judges appointed by The Centre for Sports and Exercise, based on the clear relationship between the submission and the following criteria:

Adherence to EIM at HKU Theme (25%)

Entertainment Quality (25%)

Overall Impression (25%)

Each participant can have multiple entries to enter the photo contest, yet each participant can only claim one prize. Prizes are also subject to availability with no cash alternatives.

By entering the Photo Contest, each participant agrees that their submission conforms to the Submission Guidelines and Content Restrictions as defined below and that The Centre for Sports and exercise, in its sole discretion, may remove any Submission and disqualify a participants from the Photo Contest if it believes, in its sole discretion, that the participant’s Submission fails to conform to the Guidelines and Restrictions.

Winners will be contacted by The Centre for Sports and Exercise on November, 6 2020 or in the days following through the email address provided with the Submission entry.

Participants need to upload a run details photo or screenshot as proof of their 5K entry along with accurate information with at least the date, the distance and duration of the running session. False or incomplete entries will be considered invalid.

Participants can use an activity tracker or any preferred mobile app to record their running sessions for submission, provided that all requested information is available on the app.

By submitting an entry for the Virtual 5k Challenge, participants consent to receiving information about the Virtual 5K Challenge event and special offers and promotions.

The Centre for Sports and Exercise reserves the right to request participants to provide further proof of age, identity and 5K entry submissions as they deem necessary. If participants fail or refuse to provide the requested information, The Centre for Sports and Exercise reserves the right to cancel the entry and/or participation of the participant.

Participants consent to the use of their name, result, image, photographs, video and comments in any publications and marketing in relation to this event by event organisers.

Participants declare that they are physically fit and capable of participating in this event and completing the distance required for the event. They are not aware of any medical condition or impairment that will prevent participation in this event or will affect their health by participation.

Participants acknowledge they will participate and complete their desired distance in a manner chosen by them, at locations chosen by them and at their own risk.

Participants acknowledge that this is a virtual running event and that The Centre for Sports and Exercise will not provide volunteers, marshals or medical personnel assistance to any participant.

The Centre for Sports and Exercise is not liable for any damage, loss or disappointment suffered by you for taking part or not being able to take part in this Challenge.

In the event of unforeseen circumstances, we may alter, amend or cancel the competition without prior notice. The Centre for Sports and Exercise reserves the right to change these terms at any time.

Employees and family of The Centre for Sports and Exercise Health & Fitness and will not be eligible to receive any prize from this event.
Submission Guidelines:

All photos must be original, meaning you may only enter photographs that you took and for which you own the copyright.

Photo submissions may be in horizontal or portrait format.

Photos must be submitted in JPEG, GIF, PNG, or TIFF format. Non-digital formats are not accepted.

The Centre for Sports and Exercise reserves the right to crop photos.

Digitally manipulating photos (i.e. cloning, compositing, etc.) should be kept to a minimum. Your photograph must authentically depict the setting as you saw it when you took the photograph. HDR, panoramic and stitched photos are permitted.

The Centre for Sports and Exercise reserves the right to make minor alterations to photo titles and descriptions for the purpose of correcting grammatical and spelling mistakes, etc.
Content Restrictions:

The Submission must not contain material that violates or infringes any rights of any other party, including but not limited to copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity, or any other intellectual property rights;

The Submission must not contain materials which contain visible identifiable or potentially identifiable information, including but not limited to, phone numbers, website links, street addresses, email addresses or license plate numbers;

The Submission must not disparage The Centre for Sports and Exercise, The University of Hong Kong or any other person or party;
-
The Submission must not contain material that is inappropriate, indecent, obscene, hateful, tortious, defamatory, slanderous, or libelous;

The Submission must not contain material that promotes bigotry, racism, hatred, or harm against any group or individual or promotes discrimination based on race, gender, religion, nationality, disability, sexual orientation, or age;

The Submission must not contain material that is unlawful, in violation of or contrary to the laws or regulations of Hong Kong or of any jurisdiction where Submission is created;

The Submission must be consistent with the image and values of The Centre for Sports and Exercise and be consistent with and satisfy the purpose of the Contest.
