The University of Hong Kong Shines in the 2024 Exercise is Medicine on Campus Mascot Challenge

In an exciting finale to the 2024 Mascot Challenge, the University of Hong Kong (HKU) emerged as one of the winners, solidifying its position as a leader in promoting Exercise is Medicine (EIM) principles throughout its campus.

Competing against other esteemed institutions around the workd, the HKU Mascot Challenge video showcased the EIM Medical Referral Programme and demonstrated a strong commitment to encouraging physical activity among its community. The university's dedication to health and wellness not only earned recognition from the judges, securing a 2nd place in the competition, but also received acclaim for its robust fan support. With a total of 663 votes, our HKU Lion captured the hearts of fans and supporters, achieving a well-deserved 2nd place in the Fan Favourite Award category. The university's engaging campaign resonated not only with its local audience but also garnered global attention.


As the University of Hong Kong celebrates this victory, it stands as a shining example of the positive impact that EIM principles can have on a campus community. This triumph not only showcases the University of Hong Kong's success in the Mascot Challenge but also highlights its ongoing dedication to promoting a healthy and active lifestyle among its students and staff through interdepartmental collaboration between the Centre for Sports and Exercise (CSE), the University Health Service (UHS), and the Centre of Development and Resources for Students (CEDARS).
